July 18 – 20, 2014 – CHRISSY CARTER

crissycsizedJoin Chrissy for a fun summer weekend of yoga. Our practices will focus on lightening up—the body, the mind, and the heart! Lip’s amazing property is the perfect place to escape the city. You can nap in the hammock, swim in the watering hole, or wander through her meditation labyrinth. The meals are incredible–almost everything we’ll devour comes from Lip’s garden. This retreat also includes a workshop on making organic body salve!
Lisa says:

“Native plants are unequaled in their ability to nourish and heal.” With this statement in mind, Lisa will take us for a walk to point out and identify the large variety of native medicinal and edible herbs and flowers.
We will harvest select plants, prepare herbal oils and then turn those oils into an incredible healing salve. Everyone will take with them their own container of Heal All Salve along with the satisfaction of the process…..identifying the plants in all their glory and finally producing a product that allows you to incorporate the benefits of these botanicals into your self care.

$470 double
$545 single
$415 camping luxe
$200 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot! Prices include 4 yoga classes, all meals, and the workshop with Lisa!

July 11–13, 2014 – Second Annual Iyengar Yoga Retreat with Judi Friedman Deepen Your Practice: Exploring Effortless Effort

JudyDescription

Summer at Heathen Hill provides the perfect setting to dedicate time to deepen your yoga practice. We will gather together for practice sessions that allow the time to explore the subtle aspects of “effortless effort.” The mornings will be dedicated to finding that balance through active sequences that thoroughly delve into standing poses, forward and backward bendings and twists. Our late afternoon practices will expand on the theme from the perspective of restorative postures, inversions and pranayama.

This workshop is for intermediate level practitioners who are dedicated to penetrating the surface of the rich practice of asana and pranayama. Please bring an open mind, a full heart and a learner’s inquisitiveness.

About Judi

Judi Friedman is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher who has been teaching for over a decade. Prior to teaching yoga, Judi was a corporate attorney; she discovered yoga while seeking a tool to reduce stress and to find a balance between the demands of raising her children and her career. Her personal yoga practice quickly led to a passion for sharing with others the transformational possibilities that yoga offers. She continues her studies of the vast subject of yoga with renowned Iyengar Yoga teacher Patricia Walden, as well as other inspiring teachers and is profoundly grateful to all of them. She teaches workshops, group classes and maintains a private clientele throughout northern Westchester. In addition, she is honored to serve as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York. Judi is dedicated to the principle that yoga should be accessible and safe for all; her teaching style is clear, dynamic, challenging and joyful.

Oct. 18-20, 2013 – Jeanmarie Paolillo “Yoga Vibe-a-Thon”

JeanMarie Description

Humans are creative beings. Beyond the mundane experiences that we produce on a day to day basis, we strive to create as a mechanism to both express who we are and live life to its fullest. And yet, those desires may never come to fruition. Our dreams and aspirations are often held captive to deeply held patterns of thought, word and deed known in yoga as samskaras.

Join Jeanmarie for a weekend of asana, meditation and workshop dedicated to a deeper understanding of creating from the standpoint of the philosophy of yoga; a peek into the mind and how it works; the importance of meditation and mindfulness in creating; and how to apply these practical tools to more effectively and actively create in your life.

About Jeanmarie

Jeanmarie Paolillo is a senior teacher, teacher trainer and mentor at Yoga Works in New York City. She leads trainings and workshops on asana, the philosophy of yoga, meditation and mindfulness, and the energetic body internationally. The fundamental purpose of yoga for Jeanmarie is learning to be present in the moment. She lives in the passionate belief that all things in life are possible and the_vibe_a_thon_smthat manifestation requires an understanding that everything is the culmination of our thoughts. The journey of yoga leads the practitioner to a place of awareness regarding the life they are creating so they can consciously create their lives – as evidenced by her own leap from the corporate world after 20 years. She is known for her strong vinyasa classes that emphasize alignment as a tool for mindfulness, truly meditation in motion. Through a combination of asana, pranayama, visualization and meditation mixed with a great sense of humor, Jeanmarie strives to bring what she has learned to others while receiving lessons from those she teaches. Jeanmarie has been featured in Natural Health Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Yoga Journal and has appeared on Weddings.com and the CBS Morning Show. She is part of the Expert Network for Greatest.com and a featured contributor to The Daily Love. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University and is in the process of completing studies toward a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (May, 2013).
