Vivekan is the founder and director of Park Slope, Brooklyn’s Bodhisattva Yoga (www.BodhisattvaYoga.com). He was originally certified under a direct disciple of Swami Satchidananda and has since studied with many teachers of varying traditions. He has especially been inspired by teachers from Tibet, China, India & the West. Synthesizing these influences, Vivekan has created his own unique brand of yoga instruction called Bodhisattva Yoga. His meditation instruction, and broad yogic knowledge in general, enriches his students’ experience with his ability to tie yogic philosophy with ordinary, everyday experiences.
Bodhisattva Yoga’s Co-Director, Jess, received her teacher certification under Vivekan and continues to apprentice under his guidance. She draws inspiration from her practice, her teachers and the Dharma. Among students and private clients she is known for her warmth, encouragement and her ability to share her personal tips, tricks and hacks to make life off and on the mat a little more laid back and rock star.
This retreat is Open Enrollment—perfect for newcomers to yoga, growing Basics-level practitioners and accompanying family members, spouses and friends who are in a fit condition (meaning, without physical obstructions) to participate in group yoga sessions working at Bodhisattva Yoga’s Basics I-II Level.

Description: Spend a weekend of serenity found outside of concrete NYC– the Catskills, yoga, garden grown organic food, and fun!
Tzahi will lead the 3 yoga classes where each session will complement the others to provide a complete and well-rounded weekend of yoga— forward bends, backbends, inversions, restorative and pranayama. The combination of Heathen Hill’s peace and beauty, and a comprehensive yoga study will provide an experience that will leave you feeling integrated and enlivened.
Tzahi Moskovitz became certified to teach the YogaWorks method in the first Certification to be held in New York, after his original training in the ISHTA tradition with Alan finger. In his teaching, Tzahi combines vigor, flow, and precision, using the full vocabulary of asana to create a practice that is safe while at the same time, playful and adventurous.
He is directly influenced by the flow and strength of the Ashtanga series and the alignment, intelligence and awareness of the Iyengar tradition. He is inspired by the teaching of Mary Dunn, Genny Kapuler and Mark Whitwell. His training and experiences as a medic provide Tzahi with a deep and practical understanding of anatomy as it relates to movement and asana

Genny Kapuler has studied yoga since 1976 and has been teaching since 1980. She has studied three times in India with the Iyengar family. Her primary teacher here is Mary Dunn.
Before the birth of her child and before she began teaching yoga, Genny performed as a modern dancer; for many years she had her own company. She is also trained as an Alexander-technique teacher and is a practitioner of Body-Mind Centering.
In addition to her yoga training, Genny has studied anatomy extensively.
She applies this knowledge to her understanding and teaching of yoga, directing her students toward a deeper awareness in asana and pranayama through precision of alignment. Genny also uses the poetics of language to guide her students, and to create “a mind-state in the room that is gentle and focused.”
Through Iyengar Yoga, she says, students attain ever more precise alignment of the skeletal-muscular, organ, and nervous systems. Working towards harmony of body, mind, and spirit, they are able to move out into the world with more grace.
