TOBIE SCHUERFELD & MARGOT BROOM June 19 – 22

June 19 June 22

A Summer Solstice Retreat

This is a three day retreat and will have multiple classes taught by Margot and Tobie for students to choose from.  Classes will range form vinyasa flow, gentle flow, restorative yoga and talks on yoga philosophy and the subtle body.

Please reach out to Tobie via email tob345@gmail.com for pricing and other information.

Being introduced to yoga at 13, Margot found herself incorporating the teachings and practices into multiple areas of her life from an early age. The intrigue of yoga led Margot to find ways of learning more, helping build yoga programs at her high school and even teaching peers asana in college, this formed Margot’s budding leadership skills, leading her to take her first teacher training at 22.

Margot’s style of teaching comes from over 1000 hours of training in Asana, philosophy, Ayurveda, Reiki & Energy work, Vinyasa, and Iyengar, among other styles and disciplines. She has taught internationally and studied under teachers such as Ali Cramer, Ruth Robbins, Nikki Costello, Judith Lasater, Rodney Yee, Brian Kest, Ellena Brower, Dana Flynn, and others.

Margot attributes her teachings to years of learning from life’s experiences of loss, love, challenge, and joy. She believes that the practices are an extension of your life and we need to meet them with dedication, grace, and humility knowing that each challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and expand.

In class with Margot, you will find philosophy, deeply contemplating dharma, and widely fun sequencing. Margot is the queen of “the full experience” so expect to learn, laugh, let go, listen to some good tunes and be pushed to be nothing but yourself exactly as you are.

Tobie was introduced to yoga in her early twenties but didn’t start a dedicated practice until her 29th birthday when her mother brought her to Kripalu Center in the Berkshires. Since then she has completed her 200hr certification in an Iyengar influenced style of yoga. She has learned from teachers such as Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, Rolf Gates, Baron Baptiste and Stephen Cope. Tobie teaches a vinyasa style of yoga with an attention to form and alignment. She believes that form and alignment are the keys to freedom in the body and freedom in the breath. Being a massage therapist for the last 22 years and receiving her masters in clinical nutrition 15 years ago, Tobie has a well rounded understanding of the body. Her classes are challenging and fun while giving the students an awareness that they are ultimately their own teacher and can guide their practice to fit their needs.
