DAN SHUMAN June 26 – 28
June 26 – June 28
Dan Shuman leads an annual yoga intensive at Heathen Hill for teachers and serious practitioners who want time, quiet, and sustained attention in their practice. The retreat offers an opportunity to work deeply over several days, supported by the simplicity and rhythm of retreat life in a rural setting.
The teaching is grounded in the Iyengar Yoga tradition, with an emphasis on clarity of action, intelligent sequencing, and careful observation. Classes are long-form and methodical, allowing familiar postures to be explored with greater precision and understanding. Contemporary movement perspectives are incorporated where useful, in service of joint health, efficiency of effort, and ease.
Daily pranayama and extended asana sessions are balanced with generous breaks for rest, walking, and reflection. This retreat is best suited to experienced students who value depth, seriousness, and a thoughtful, non-performative approach to practice.
